The FIP ranking

The FIP (International Padel Federation) is padel's world governing body. Its ranking, the FIP Race, orders players internationally by their results on the world circuit. It is the international reference, separate from the national FFT ranking used in France.

In France, an internationally ranked player can be assimilated into the FFT ranking: they are given a high FFT position without having accumulated FFT points. They therefore show 0 FFT points, while their real level is far higher. For these players PadelHub shows their FIP rank (FIP #220, say) instead of a misleading "0 pts", on their profile and in club rankings alike.

Who can play FIP tournaments? FIP circuit tournaments (the Cupra FIP Tour) are open to players licensed through their national federation (the FFT in France). The circuit is tiered: from qualifying rounds within reach of strong amateurs up to events reserved for the world elite. The exact entry conditions and the category details are on the official site.
